My name is Myrna Balderas Garza and I am currently teaching at the "Facultad de Educación" at the "Universidad Autónoma de Yucatán". I love teaching and I have been working here for over 14 years (quite a lifetime!!). I like teaching because I like sharing what I know and also because I find it a very interesting job. Of course, you can never expect rewards when you are a teacher. I think the best reward you can get is your students' smiles and their interest when you are explaining something to them. That is really satisfying.
Something I enjoy doing at the University is designing materials for the language laboratory. I have learned a lot and I would like my partners to see what we have at the laboratory. However, only a few of them get interested and make some time to take their students there, something that worries me and makes me sad because I would like everyone to find out how useful this tool (the language lab) can be.
Another thing I enjoy doing is learning. I love learning new things every day. For example, today I am learning how to design a blog and that's something I have always wanted to learn (since last year, which was the first time I heard that word).

Myrna,
You and your blog are off to a great start! I think this blog will be a great way for you and your colleagues to share ideas and resources. Let's think about ways to make sure this happens!
Dear Karen,
I have come out with some ideas, I hope you can see them along the week. I'll try to make something happens. Let's see if I can succeed.
I have no doubt that you will have many successes in this blog... you´ve got that special combination of determination and creativity!
Dear Karen,
Thank you for your comments. I have a question. As you will see in my blog I made some suggestions about some sites that I have used with my students. However, I tried to make links to the exercises that I have created but I couldn't. The question is: Is this possible? And if so, how can I do that?
I will appreciate your help.
I hope you are having a great time in Mexico City.
Myrna
